Video Relay Service Order

In Order FCC 05-140, the Commission adopted rules for the Video Relay Service ("VRS").

VRS allows communications using sign language through a communications assistant ("CA"), who facilitates the call, via a video link, rather than through typed text. The new rules establish mandatory speed of answer requirements for VRS, require VRS to be offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and permit VRS providers to be compensated from the Interstate TRS Fund for providing VRS Mail.
